New Artist Alert: Jason Tucker

I first got to know Jason Tucker back in 2008 when he was playing keys and singing background vocals for Eric Durrance on the CMT Tour with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. I thought he was incredibly talented and could be a solo artist in his own right, and it turns out that he is trying to take that path right now.

Tucker isn't really "country" per say, but he's really talented and that's all that matters. Most of his music has a rock vibe to it... something that I could easily hear on a Top 40 radio station, or see a video for on VH1 (he's easy on the eyes, too, so that helps!). His voice kind of reminds me of David Cook (American Idol winner), but it's still unique in its own way.

In fact, I think Tucker is an extremely talented round-about musician, so it surprises me that he hasn't had more success in the music industry. Not only does he have a mature, polished, amazing voice, but he is a great piano/keyboard player and, possibly best of all, he is a great songwriter. Looking at Tucker, I wouldn't expect lyrics that deep and profound to come from him, but he has an amazing ability to put words into songs, and more times than not, they are songs that his audience can really relate to and connect with.

Tucker has an EP out on iTunes and there isn't a bad song on it. He's had quite the struggle in the music industry over the past couple of years, but I sincerely hope that he keeps on pushing and following his dreams. I think there is a lot of promise in his future, no matter if he decides to be a singer, a songwriter, a keyboard player, or ALL of it! He's talented enough to do anything that he sets his mind to.

I can't say enough great things about Jason. Check out his music and I think you'll have the same great things to say about him as I do! :)
