New Artist Alert: Jessica Ridley

I've done a few of these new artist blogs now and all of them have been written about male country artists, mainly because there was never a female singer who stopped me in my tracks. However, Jessica Ridley changed all of that for me. Jessica is a country singer born and raised in Canada with a pure voice and rockin' attitude. Besides being absolutely beautiful, her songs are catchy, showcase her talent perfectly, and they sound completely different from what is currently out at radio right now. 

Jessica will be releasing her 13-track debut album sometime next year. She currently has a song out at radio entitled "Flaming Red." It's a rocking little number that makes you tap your foot and want to sing along. 

I like Jessica a lot because she's different from a lot of the female country singers out there right now. She lists Shania Twain as one of her influences, and I can see a little bit of Shania in her. She appears fearless, not afraid to speak her mind, always up for some fun, and a sassy performer. In fact, Jessica says that performing live is her favorite thing to do. 

A lot of the songs that I have heard of Jessica's have a rock aspect to them. Her songs keep you entertained and always wanting more. She has co-written four of the songs on her debut album.
